On meeting your book heroes.

In a post a couple of days ago, I mentioned that 1001 Children’s Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up was published a few years ago, and so doesn’t contain some newer books that might now be considered children’s ‘must reads’ or children’s classics. One such book, I believe, is Derek Landy’s Skulduggery Pleasant. And guess what? I got to meet Derek Landy yesterday when he came and signed some books at the bookstore. It was so great to see some of the kids who were there star struck and in awe of their idol. You see, authors can be as awesome as rock stars! Derek Landy was really nice to everyone he met, and funny, and friendly, and just generally acting like a hero. The kids who met him will remember it for a long time.

In other news, I am posting this at 6.30 in the morning because I am in production week for Singin in the Rain. Bump in yesterday, tech today. So I might not be that diligent in posting this week!

  1. It must have been adorable to see the kid’s expressions as he signed their books 🙂 Lucky you!
