On giving books a second life

I know I should probably be writing about bookish things that happened to me on my trip, or about one of the 1001 Children’s Books I Must Read Before I Grow Up (that is what this blog is supposed to be about, after all!) but there is only 5 weeks until the Adelaide Fringe, and there are lots of bookish things that are happening at the Adelaide Fringe Warehouse!

You may remember a while ago I was rescuing a whole lot of lovely second hand books that were going to be thrown away and Adelaide Fringe were giving them a new life. Well, everyone has been very busy while I have been away, and lots of amazing things have been created in my absence. Have a look for yourself!

These cloth-bound covers are being used to create the front of a bar for the Fringe artist club.

This giant book was bare when I visited this morning (as you can see in the picture) but by the time I came back this afternoon, it was half covered in book pages. And something else that started between my first and second visit on the day:

And as for the book mannequins (the first one which we met here) are multiplying.

I’m sure there will be more bookish Fringe photos coming along in the next few weeks!
