The above image is taken from an article that shows 40 amazing photos from the past. It is definitely worth having a look – see them here. This image is of a bookstore in London ruined during the 1940 air raids. Not only did this image strike me out of all the images because, of course, it has books in it, but I love the figure in it. Despite all the turmoil around him, he can still find comfort in a book. If someone can keep reading in a ruined bookstore during the London air raids, I think we should all turn to books when life gets us a little down.
