On reading everywhere

I stumbled across this beautiful post about Steve McCurry’s photographs of people reading around the world. What I love most about it (apart from the boy reading leaning up against an elephant) is the universality of being absorbed in a book. I’ve put a few of my favourite photos below, but you should definitely have a look at the rest of the photos in the post here.

  1. These are achingly beautiful and heart-warming at the same time. Liked the leading photo — almost looked like Mowgli reading about himself! Wouldn’t that seem weird.

  2. Wonderful! I love how they show people enjoying books alone and with others.
